Israel’s army asks patients and employees of a hospital in Gaza to leave the clinic. In an attack shortly afterwards there are no injuries – according to reports, but destruction.
Israel’s army has confirmed reports of an attack on a hospital building in the north of the Gaza Strip. The goal was a Hamas command center in the Al-Ali Hospital, the Israeli military and the Domestic secret service Schin Bet said. Members of the Islamist organizations had carried out and planned attacks from there, which would also have taken Israeli civilians. The Israeli military did not provide details.
Israel’s army took steps before the attack to protect civilians and to keep damage to the clinic in the city of Gaza as low as possible, the explanation said. There was a warning in advance. Nobody was injured in the attack.
Eyewitnesses confirmed the German press agency that the army asked the hospital administration to evacuate the clinic before the attack. Patients and employees had 18 minutes to leave the hospital, reported the Palestinian news agency Wafa, citing eyewitnesses. In cool weather, dozens of patients should have spent on the streets around the clinic. A nine -year -old boy was suffering from his injuries during the evacuation, it was said from medical circles.
According to Palestinian information, a building of the clinic was hit and destroyed in an Israeli air raid on Sunday night. Fires broke out in the emergency room, among other things, reported Wafa.
According to the Palestinian news agency, the Al-Ali Hospital has been the most important medical facility in the north of the Gaza Strip in recent months.
