Who is disappointed with the coalition agreement? Who is satisfied? Our exclusive survey shows how much the Agreements of the Union and the SPD split the nation.
The message of the CDU is clear: “We bring Germany back forward”, emblazoned on the party’s homepage. The SPD is also good courage: “If people feel that their life will be easier again, trust in our democracy is also growing,” says the party’s website. Self -praised is not forbidden, but how do those affected think themselves?
The coalition agreement is controversial among the citizens
The coalition agreement between the CDU/CSU and SPD divides the Germans. According to a Forsa survey on behalf of the Stern, 45 percent of the citizens are rather disappointed, 43 percent are rather satisfied. Twelve percent have not yet formed an opinion shortly after the results were presented.
The followers of the new coalition parties are rather satisfied. The first impression of their own supporters hardly differs: 69 percent of the voters of CDU/CSU have a positive opinion on the agreements, but also 64 percent of the SPD voters. The contractual work sees only one quarter critically (24 percent of the Union supporters and 23 percent of the SPD supporters.) Also with the Greens’ supporters-albeit close (48 to 46 percent). The voters of the other opposition parties are rather disappointed. 58 percent of the left-wing voters and 84 percent of the AfD voters comment.
The CSU has already approved the coalition agreement. The CDU decides on a so -called small party congress on April 28th. A member vote will take place from the SPD from April 13th to April 29th. If all parties agree, then the election of Friedrich Merz as Chancellor should take place on May 6th.
The data was made by the market and opinion research institute Forsa for the star and RTL Germany raised by phone on April 10th and 11th. Database: 100 respondents. Statistical fault tolerance: +/- 3 percentage points. This means that the survey is representative.
