Moscow has strengthened its air raids in Ukrainian cities, most recently there were dozens of deaths. But to have something to discuss with the United States, book is guided by alleged Ukrainian attacks.
According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskow in Washington, Russia wants to complain about alleged violations of Ukraine about the stop of mutual attacks on energy systems. A 30-day moratorium on such attacks expires on Wednesday, April 16, Peskow said in Moscow, as the state Russian news agency reported. Ukraine clearly violated it, he claimed.
“Of course you have to analyze these 30 days, exchange information and considerations with the Americans,” he said. President Vladimir Putin then has to decide whether Moscow would stick to the partial arms.
After Putin’s phone call to US President Donald Trump on March 18, the Kremlin had announced that Russia would stick to a stop on power plants for 30 days. Ukraine also agreed to do so, but asked for a determination of the data and a list of the goals excluded from attacks.
Big attacks on energy systems decreased
Since then, both sides have accused each other almost every day of violations of the moratorium. Most of the time, however, it was about smaller damage close to the energy system. There was no longer a Russian shelling on Ukrainian power plants. Ukraine no longer shot Russian refineries, which Moscow had caused significant problems in the weeks before.
However, Russia increased its air raids to other destinations in the Ukrainian cities and has killed several dozen civilians since the beginning of April alone. On Sunday, at least 34 people died in the city of Sumy in the northeast of Ukraine through rocket strikes.
Damage to several locations in Ukraine
In the night of Monday, Russian combat drones in the Ukrainian areas of Odessa, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Charkiw were causing the Ukrainian Air Force. Several people were injured in Odessa. According to its own statements, the Russian military defended 52 Ukrainian fight drones at night.
