The new federal government has to save – so much that it provides its entire coalition agreement with a financing reservation. The Court of Auditors says.
According to the Federal Audit Office, the new federal government could take billions of additional taxes with a more consistent policy. “The scope for action is enormous,” said Court of Auditors Kay Scheller in Berlin. In the case of tax breaks alone, the federal government has a savings potential of 23 billion euros annually. According to a special report, another billion could be taken if tax fraud was fought more effectively and the taxation were improved.
At the moment, all of these solutions would hardly be discussed. “Empire is more apparent to introduce further tax benefits,” the report says. A consolidation of the household is more urgent than ever. Instead, however, subsidies would be given away, there are incomplete taxation, outdated IT systems and damage caused by tax fraud in double billions.
Citizens would have to do without advantages
The Court of Auditors, for example, recommends checking tax benefits for diesel fuel. Likewise, tax reductions for craftsman services that were introduced in 2006 to add growth and employment in the craft. In addition, the reduced value added tax rate should be limited to basic care in accordance with the examiners. There are also multiple funding and take -off effects for families for families.
“For the citizens and companies, the waiver of the usual advantages or additional loads can be connected to the usual advantages,” warned Scheller. Therefore, such measures needed preliminary and transparency that those affected would have to get the chance to adjust to it in good time.
