Danish soldiers should benefit from the campaign experiences of the Ukrainian military, especially in drone fight. Moscow warns of an escalation.
The NATO member Denmark is considering sending his own soldiers for training to Ukraine. This was announced by the Danish military in a broadcast. You consider the opportunity to send Danish soldiers to shorter courses in Ukraine so that they could gain experience there.
The Danish military thus rowed back from the statements made by Armed Forces chief Peter Boysen. He had told the TV 2 TV 2 that Denmark wanted to send unarmed soldiers for training to Ukraine so that they learned from the Ukrainian military and above all their experience in the drone war.
Boysen also said that the Danes were far from the front, probably in training centers in the west of Ukraine.
According to the Ritzau news agency, the Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen did not want to comment on the plans with the indication that the responsibility in the matter was with the military.
Russian ambassador: Life of Danish soldiers in danger
In the Russian embassy in Copenhagen, Boysen’s statements caused displeasure. In a written comment, the Russian ambassador in Denmark, Vladimir Barbin, TV 2 said, a training of Danish soldiers in Ukraine “Denmark deeper into the conflict” and “provokes another uncontrolled escalation”.
The Russian ambassador continued to write that the decision put “the life of Danish soldiers in danger.” Because all military facilities in Ukraine, including training and training centers in the west of the country, are “legitimate goals” for the Russian military, according to Barbin.
Again and again attacks on training centers
The Russian military repeatedly attacks Ukrainian training centers in the western part of the country. At the beginning of the war, among other things, there were rocket strokes on the barracks of the military training area Desna in the northeastern tank area of Tschernihiw and Jaworiw in the West Ukrainian region of Lwiw, not far from the Polish border. Dozens of soldiers died in both attacks.
Before the Russian invasion in February 2022, JOWORIW was used for the training of Ukrainian soldiers by instructors from NATO countries. Before the war, joint maneuvers with troops from NATO countries took place on the practice site.
Denmark is a founding member of NATO and has been one of the greatest supporters in Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian war of aggression.
