After insulting Habeck: Man receives a fine for further incidents

After a search for a man due to a suspected “weak head” insult to Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck (Greens) on X, the accused should pay a fine. The district court of Haßfurt had issued a penalty order with 90 daily rates for accusation of using indicators of unconstitutional and terrorist organizations and incitement, a court spokesman said.

The accused’s lawyer announced that it would appeal. In this case there would be a process.

With regard to the “Wall Head” post itself, the investigation was temporarily stopped, the Bamberg public prosecutor said. In addition to the other allegations against the man, the expected punishment for the image file uploaded to X in spring 2024 with a portrait photo Habeck and the lettering “Wallkopf Professional” “not significantly important”. The search for the “weak head” memorial among the man in Lower Franconia had triggered astonishment even in the vicinity of the still incumbent Minister of Economic Affairs. The Bamberg public prosecutor later announced that the search had already been applied for before the Greens politician filed a complaint in the case. The incident was reported to the Federal Criminal Police Office via an online portal.

The investigative authority argued that there was a special public interest in law enforcement. Habeck deals with a Federal Minister and the German Vice Chancellor.
