Own artillery guns, drones and rockets – the attacked Ukraine now produces many armaments in their own country. Nevertheless, she remains dependent on help from abroad.
According to President Wolodymyr Selenskyj, Ukraine is currently fighting 40 percent with weapons from its own production when the Russian attack war is defended. “Our defense industry is already producing more than a thousand weapon types: from artillery cables to rockets and long -distance weapons to our drones,” said Selenskyj in front of representatives of the armaments industry in Kiev.
“More than 40 percent of all weapons used at the front to defend our country are produced in Ukraine,” he said, according to the presidential office. At the same time, the number of cooperations of foreign partners is growing with the Ukrainian armaments industry, which according to its information employs around 300,000 people.
The successes of the Ukrainian armaments industry include the rapid further development of combat drones of different types and the production of artillery shooters. Ukraine has already used its own rockets, albeit in small numbers.
Ukraine still needs weapons from abroad
At the same time, Selenskyj’s information proves that his country is highly dependent on arms deliveries from abroad when defending the Russian invasion. This applies, among other things, tank and armored vehicles as well as the aircraft. The President recently proposed the United States to buy 10 patriot flight defense systems for $ 15 billion.
