US Senator in El Salvador: Trump government lies

He was accidentally deported. However, the US government is now raising serious allegations against Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Senator van Hollen speaks of lies – and personally travels to El Salvador.

In the dispute over the accidental deportation of a man from the USA to a notorious prison in El Salvador, US Senator Chris van Hollen raises serious accusations against the government of President Donald Trump. Van Hollen said that the Republican, Minister of Justice Pam Bondi and Vice President JD Vance would deliberately make false claims in this case.

Contrary to her representation, Kilmar Abrego Garcia was not charged either because of a crime or membership in the criminal association MS-13. “This is a lie,” said van Hollen.

The Democrat wanted to personally work in El Salvador for the return of the 29-year-old to the USA. The man originally comes from El Salvador and, according to the US media, had entered the United States on the run from gang violence. Although his asylum application was rejected in 2019, he received abdominal protection – with reference to impending political persecution.

Nevertheless, Abrego Garcia was arrested and deported in the state of Maryland in mid -March, which Van Hollen represents in the Senate. The US government initially spoke of an “administrative mistake”, but at the same time confirmed the accusation that he was a member of the notorious gang MS-13. Abrego Garcia and his lawyers deny that.
