Fighting drones change the war – this is also shown by the fights in Ukraine. Great Britain is now based on a new system that is supposed to put whole swarms out of action.
Great Britain is developing a new weapon for drone defense. The system is intended to put swarms of combat drones out of action with electromagnetic waves. The Ministry of Defense in London said it was successfully tested in Wales. It was the greatest exercise in the British army to prevail so far.
The system uses radio waves to disturb or damage important electronic components in drones, the statement said. This means that they crashed or no longer worked properly.
The British government also refers to the Russian attack war against Ukraine, where drones are increasingly being used on the front. Secret services assumed that Ukraine had to defend itself against more than 18,000 drones last year, the British write.
In the case of estimated costs of ten British Pence (almost nine cent) per shot, the system could be an inexpensive addition to conventional rocket systems if it is developed until it is ready for use, the British wrote. Great Britain also works on a laser to combat drones (“Dragonfire”).
