Beware of taking pictures of bridges, power plants and airports in Poland. A new regulation prohibits recordings of many such objects. So Poland wants to better protect himself against espionage.
Poland punishes photography of military facilities and other critical infrastructure without special approval. A corresponding order from the Ministry of Defense comes into force this Thursday, as the news agency Pap reported. The EU and NATO country wants to better protect itself against espionage.
The ban applies to 25,000 objects nationwide. In addition to the military, there are also power plants and energy systems, bridges, tunnels, airports, ports and border crossings to Ukraine. In the event of an infringement, the film or photo equipment will be seized, up to 30 days in prison and fines up to the equivalent of 4,700 euros.
Anyone who wants to photograph these objects for media publications, for example for media publications, must previously apply for a permit from the Ministry of Defense.
Poland is one of the most important military and political supporters of the Ukraine attacked by Russia. The Polish intelligence agencies repeatedly determine suspects that the objects of the critical infrastructure on behalf of the Belarusian or Russian secret services are said to have spied on.
