Russia: Taurus attacks would be direct participation in war in Germany
The Russian government once again warns the Federal Government to deliver the Taurus cruise mission to Ukraine. This means a direct participation in the war.
According to the Foreign Ministry in Moscow, every attack with Taurus marching aircraft on Russian goals would be referred to in the conflict as a “direct participation” of Germany. “A blow with these rockets against Russian institutions (…), like a direct participation in Germany, is taken into account in the fighting acts at the side of the regime in Kiev, with all the consequences that this brings with it,” Foreign Office spokeswoman Maria Sacharova was cited on Thursday by Russian news agencies.
The use of the marching aircraft is “not possible without direct support for the Bundeswehr soldiers,” added Sacharova.
Merz promises Taurus delivery-Moscow reacts with a threat
Last Sunday, the probably new Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) promised the delivery of the Taurus marching aircraft to Ukraine in coordination with European partners. In response to the CDU leader’s statements, the Kremlin warned on Monday of the risk of an “escalation” of the conflict in Ukraine. The outgoing Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) has always rejected Taurus deliveries.
Russia had previously threatened the West to the Ukraine because of the delivery of US rockets of ATACMS and British Storm Shadow Marching Drivers. After the first use of these weapons in attacks on destinations in Russia, the Russian army fired its new Type oreschnik hyperschallraket to Ukraine. Moscow also threatened to use the rocket again.
