Only after a security check can local workers and other threatened Afghans enter. But now there are discrepancies in documents.
The Federal Police investigated Afghans who entered the admission on Wednesday. In eight cases, investigative proceedings were initiated due to documentary offenses, the authority said on Thursday evening. The German Press Agency learned from security circles predominantly about fake or falsified documents.
“We can confirm that the particularly endangered persons from Afghanistan have been subjected to an entry -level check -up and investigative proceedings were initiated yesterday,” said a spokesman for the Federal Ministry of the Interior of the “Bild”, which had reported on it.
Safety check before entry
This could lead to this, even though officials from the federal police still checked the people in the outland – in this case Pakistan – it was said. The so-called document and visa consultants noted any abnormalities in the file for the visa process.
The aircraft with 138 Afghans with admission commitments ended up at Leipzig/Halle Airport. According to the Federal Ministry of the Interior, 45 children and adolescents entered. 76 people are female, 62 male.
Foreign Office: there was no doubt about identity
“All people on the charter flight were put through their paces,” said a spokeswoman for the Federal Foreign Office. “There was no doubt about identity if there was any doubt, because security has a top priority in the procedures.” All traveled were persecuted by the Taliban. Among them are “people, such as the former spokeswoman for the presidential office (before the Taliban took over), such as teachers or lawyers who have campaigned for a constitutional Afghanistan”.
Germany takes up Afghans via several programs. Until shortly before the Taliban Islamist seizure of power in August 2021, the Federal Republic was present with soldiers as part of a NATO mission in the country. In addition to the former local forces of the Bundeswehr and other German institutions and their relatives, Afghans should also be admitted and have to fear the persecution by the Taliban. This can be the case because in the past they have committed themselves as lawyers or journalists for human rights.
Entry not excluded despite inconsistencies
In all flight connections from third countries, passengers would once again be checked by the federal police when entering Germany, even with a charter machine, the security circles said. It is possible that the officials came across the same discrepancies as their colleagues in the field.
If you suspected a crime, you initiated an investigation. This does not necessarily mean that the recording will be refused. However, six people were deleted from the final list before departure because there were questions about their documents.
Next government wants to end programs
If documents were submitted in the visa process that may be wrong or falsified, identity with other evidence would be determined, it said from the Federal Foreign Office. For example, DNA report could be requested to prove family relationships. “Photos are also possible, videos, vaccination passes, pupils, other official documents, interviews and surveys etc. to clarify an identity or family relationships.”
The planned government of the CDU, CSU and SPD wants to end voluntary entrance programs as much as possible. However, there are still flights under the outgoing red-green government. “In these cases, there are specific admission commitments already given in the past,” emphasized a spokesman for the Interior Ministry. New commitments would not be granted.
