Printing of the USA and Europe – Russia emphasizes its interests

Russia only wants to talk to the United States about Ukraine. But now the Trump administration and representatives of Europe have been advising on the war for the first time. This makes the situation more difficult for Moscow.

In view of the growing pressure from the USA and Europe, Russia emphasizes its willingness to dialogue at the end of the Ukraine War, which has been in 2022, but wants to know its interests. This was said by Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskow in Moscow in response to statements by US President Donald Trump. The latter had said that this week he was waiting for Russian feedback on a possible peace agreement.

There are certain progress on this complicated topic, “but there are still many difficult consultations,” said Peskow, according to the TASS news agency. “Russia strives for a solution to this conflict, a preservation of its own interests, and is ready for dialogue.”

No new instructions to limited fire break

The Kremlin spokesman named the 30-day stop of the attacks on energy systems, even if, according to his portrayal, only Russia, but not the Ukraine, adhered to it. The limited fire break expired on Thursday, confirmed Peskow. He did not comment on a continuation. “So far, there have been no new instructions from the high commanding officer, from President (Vladimir) Putin,” he said.

Europeans and the USA are pushing at the end of the war quickly

Trump’s pushing for a quick answer from Moscow followed the advice of his negotiators with European countries and Ukraine on Thursday in Paris. Despite different approaches, the round agreed to want to end the war quickly and to request this from Moscow. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio threatened that Washington could set his commitment to a peace solution if the war could not be ended quickly.

If possible, Russia only wants to talk to the United States about the Ukraine War, which is why Peskow criticized the participation of the Europeans. “We have recently had no calls to peace from Europeans. On the contrary, there is a call for another militarization of Europe like Ukraine,” he said. The European approach is based on making Ukraine as strong as possible in a negotiation process.
