Russia saw a lower intensity of Ukrainian fighting at the Easter fire break. Kiev’s demand to do without further attacks fizzles out.
The Russian army resumed the fighting in Ukraine at the end of the fire break arranged by Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin. In a message at Telegram, the Ministry of Defense in Moscow informed about the continuation of the “Military Special Operation”, as the Kremlin calls war. Requirements of the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj to continue the general ceasefire for 30 days met with rejection in Moscow.
The Ministry of Defense in Moscow complained to numerous violations of the Ukrainian side against the 30-hour fire break set by Putin on Saturday. A total of 4,900 injuries to the ceasefire were registered, the statement said.
Russia sees less intensity of the fights during the day
At the same time, the ministry admitted that the intensity of the opponent’s fighting on the entire front line had decreased considerably during the day. Commentators in Ukraine demanded that these statements continue to continue the fire break.
Selenskyj had also accused the Russians thousands of violations of the fire break. But he also pointed out that at least there was no air alarm on Easter Sunday. He again took this as an opportunity for a new proposal to forego air strikes with drones, marching aircraft and rockets against civilian objects for a period of 30 days. An answer from Moscow is pending.
Ukraine has been defending itself against the Russian attack war for more than three years.
