Putin commented on his statement about the beauty in relation to Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, February 10, commented on the phrase he said “If you like it or not, be patient, my beauty,” which he uttered, speaking about the need for Kiev to fulfill the Minsk agreements. According to the Russian leader, the utterance had no “personal dimension”.

“In my work for many years I have never become personal, and this had no personal dimension … If Ukraine has assumed obligations in the Donbass, then everyone expects them to be fulfilled,” the Russian President said in a conversation with journalists in the Kremlin .

Putin added that when one hears comments from the head of state that one likes and dislikes something in the fundamental agreements that regulate important relations between countries in terms of security, then “this is not the right format.”

The phrase about the beauty was heard following negotiations with French President Emmanuel Macron, which took place on February 7 in Moscow. So the Russian leader commented on the statement of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who said that he did not like any of the clauses of the Minsk agreements. Putin pointed out that there is no alternative to agreements.

February 8 Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov explained that “the president meant that if the state has assumed obligations and if there is a signature of the head of state, then these obligations must be fulfilled.”

Later, the Ukrainian leader commented on the phrase said by Putin. Zelensky agreed that Ukraine is “beautiful”, assured that his country is very patient, but expressed dissatisfaction with the use of the pronoun “my” by the Russian president.

Since 2014, Kiev has been conducting a military operation against the inhabitants of Donbass, who refused to recognize the results of the coup d’état and the new government in Ukraine. At the same time, Kiev blames Moscow for the current situation. Russia has repeatedly stated that it is not a party to the intra-Ukrainian conflict and emphasized that the Minsk agreements lie at the heart of the peace settlement, which the Ukrainian side does not comply with.
