Number of victims in Kyiv increases after Russian attacks
Kremlin chief Putin has promised to consider a moratorium against civil goals. While he is pondering, the Russian military once again shot at cities in Ukraine – with fatal consequences in Kiev.
In the Ukrainian capital Kiev, the number of fatalities has increased after a combined Russian rocket and drone attack on at least nine. More than 70 people were injured, the disaster protection said. According to Mayor Vitali Klitschko, there are also six children among the injured.
Further victims are suspected of the ruins, because the rescue and rescue work has not yet ended in the morning hours. “The ringing of telephones can be heard from the ruins – the search continues until we are sure that we all have,” Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko told the Unian news agency. The rescue teams are still looking for two children who have not yet been found at the scene of the accident.
The Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj, who is now an official visit to South Africa, expressed his condolences to the members of the victims. He announced on platform X that he cancel part of the program planned there. After a meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, he would immediately return to Ukraine. It was 44 days since his country agreed to a full fire break, wrote Selenskyj. Russia continues to kill. The world must understand what really happened, he wrote and referred to almost 70 rockets and about 150 attack drones.
Massive attack on the Ukrainian capital
During the night, the Russian military had led a massive attack from the air against the neighboring country. Drones, ballistic rockets, but also a marching missile, such as the sea -based modern Kalibr steering weapons, were used, the authorities said.
There were impacts in Kiev in several places, so the Swjatoschyn district was most severely affected in the northwest of the capital. Several high -rise buildings were damaged, including garages and a variety of cars burned.
Nationwide there were victims and damage in nine regions. In addition to Kyiv, the Charkiw, Dnipropetrovsk, Saporischschja and Schytomyr regions. In the latter, for example, a fireman was injured when the Russians started a second wave of attack.
