India and Pakistan are not well talked about. Now the conflict has tightened again. That is why India uses drastic measures.
After the fatal attack on tourists in the Indian -controlled part of Kashmir, India ordered the designation of all Pakistani nationals until April 29. “All Pakistani nationals who are currently in India have to leave India before the visa has expired,” said the Foreign Ministry in Neu Delhi on Thursday.
After the attack on Tuesday with at least 26 deaths, Neu Delhi had accused the hostile neighboring country to support “cross -border terrorism” in Kashmir. Pakistan reacted immediately with a number of sharp countermeasures. The government in Islamabad declared several Indian diplomats to undesirable people on Thursday, who would have to leave the country “immediately”, as the Pakistani head of government Shehbaz Sharif announced.
Any attempt to endanger the Pakistani water resources by exposing the Indus water agreement is rated as a “act of war”, it continued. Islamabad also announced border closures and the suspension of trade. Indian airlines were prohibited in Pakistan. Visa for Indian citizens that have already been issued should be canceled, with the exception of Sikh pilgrims.
26 Indians and a Nepalese killed
The attack occurred on Tuesday in the Indian -controlled part of Kaschmir in the popular holiday destination Pahalgam, which is about 90 kilometers from the city of Srinagar. The attackers killed 26 Indians and a Nepalese. At first nobody confessed to the attack. India regularly accuses Pakistan of supporting Kashmir armed insurgents, which rejects Pakistan.
The Indian government had already passed a number of punitive measures on Wednesday. Among other things, the Foreign Ministry in Neu Delhi announced the closure of the most important joint border crossing and the suspension of an agreement to distribute water resources of several Himalayan flows. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that those responsible for the attack were tracked down and punished.
Relationships between India and Pakistan maximum tense
As a result of the attack, the relationships between the two nuclear powers that have been rival to decades have dropped to a new low. “This attack will put the relationships back into the dark days,” said the Analyst of the International Crisis Group, Praveen Donthi.
The northern Himalayan region of Kashmir, which is mostly inhabited by Muslims, has been shared since India and Pakistan’s independence in 1947. Both countries claim the area completely for themselves and have already led two wars to control the mountain region. India has stationed half a million soldiers in the region and has been performing rebel groups there since 1989. Tens of thousands of civilians, soldiers and rebels were killed.
