If you want to live your transidentity openly, you should leave the military. This is how President Donald Trump commands it. Courts have stopped the project. Trump wants the Supreme Court to turn on.
US President Donald Trump has contacted the Supreme Court to enforce trans people from the military. A lower instance had previously judged that the exclusion of trans people against the constitutional requirement – that all people have to be treated equally before the law – violated. In her application to the Supreme Court, Trump’s government now wrote that this injunction tears the authority of the executive itself. She asked the Supreme Court to allow the arrangement to be enforced immediately.
A few weeks ago, the US Department of Defense had ordered Trump’s behest that trans people should largely be excluded from military service – also active soldiers. The Pentagon indicated that those responsible for the individual branches of the armed forces should identify all persons with a diagnosis or history of “gender dysphoria” within 30 days. These people should then be excluded from the military and honestly released – unless “their file justifies” the whereabouts.
Trump has already knitted against transgender in the election campaign
“It is undisputed that gender dysphoria is a medical state that is associated with clinically significant suffering or impairments in social, professional or other important functional areas,” the Trump government wrote in its application to the Supreme Court. Trump was already committed to the exclusion of trans people from the military and has announced in the election campaign to stop the “transgenders” want. The Republican has given numerous discriminatory measures against trans people after taking office.
Trans people do not identify with the gender that was attributed to them at birth. The World Health Organization (WHO) has no longer classified trans- and gender-various identities as a mental illness since 2019 to reflect a modern understanding of gender identity. An earlier guideline of the Pentagon prohibited discrimination based on gender identity.
The judges of the Supreme Court had recently repeatedly made a position on Trump’s politics – but as a rule, it was more about technical questions. They decided both in the sense of the Republican and against him. During his first term, Trump had postponed the majority of the Supreme Court far to the right with several sacrifications.
