Hamburg has been ruled red-green since 2015. SPD and Greens are preparing to continue the next five years. A coalition agreement is negotiated. The SPD base is for it.
Two days after the presentation of the new coalition agreement with the Greens, the Hamburg SPD approved the new edition of the government alliance. At a state party conference there was only one abstention for the 148 -page government program among the 297 delegates.
The seven SPD senators proposed by Mayor Peter Tschentscher for the future red-green Senate also received the approval of the party congress. They also belonged to the past Senate. The SPD state chairman Melanie Leonhard Economic Senator and Karen Pein, Melanie Schlotzhauer, Ksenija Bekeris, Andreas Dressel, Andy Grote and Carsten Brosda senatorers for urban development, social issues, school, finance, inner and culture.
Coalition agreement shows clear social democratic handwriting
Tschenscher had previously promoted the coalition agreement before the delegates. The contract clearly shows social democratic handwriting. “If you put the election program and the coalition agreement next to her, she will find a very much agreement,” said the SPD politician.
He referred to the successes of the past few years. Free day care centers, free all -day care and a free school ticket will continue to exist in Hamburg, while saving in other federal states.
Together with the Greens, they want to “advance the debureauidatization and actually create faster planning and approval procedures,” said the mayor. In addition, building in Hamburg should be cheaper as a prerequisite for affordable rents. In addition, the mobility turn in favor of buses, trains, bicycles and foot traffic will be pushed forward. “But we ensure that everyone can cope with the mobility turnaround, even those who still need or want to use the car,” said Tschenscher.
Greens decide on Monday about the coalition agreement
On Monday, a state members’ meeting of the Greens will also deal with the coalition agreement. Again, approval is considered safe. According to the plans, the contract is to be signed on Tuesday. Tschentscher could then be elected mayor again in the citizens on May 7th.
SPD and Greens have been reigning together in Hamburg since 2015. In the election of the citizens on March 2, both parties had to take significant losses. The SPD had nevertheless become the strongest force again, while the Greens had to be satisfied with third place behind a stronger CDU.
