According to the armed forces, the killed were terrorists from Afghanistan with attack plans. There is a different neighboring country in the middle of increased tensions: India.
According to Pakistan’s armed forces, 54 alleged terrorists killed on the border with Afghanistan. These had tried to penetrate Afghanistan to penetrate Wasiristan in the northwest of Pakistan, it said in a communication by the military. All intruders were killed. Large amounts of weapons, ammunition and explosives were found.
According to secret service information, the killed at the behest of their “foreign gentlemen” came to perform “terrorist activities” in Pakistan. According to the military, the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) were behind it – these were therefore given their instructions from India. Since a terrorist attack in the Indian part of Kaschmir, last Tuesday with 26 deaths, the tensions between the two rival nuclear powers India and Pakistan have tightened.
On Saturday, two Pakistani soldiers were also killed in Wasiristan – the region was once considered a stronghold of various terrorist groups such as Al Qaeda. Pakistan has been experiencing an increase in violence by militant groups such as the TTP for some time, which, despite the ideological proximity, are independent of the Taliban ruling in Afghanistan. Pakistan accuses the neighboring country of granting them with retreat on their ground. The rulers in Kabul reject the allegations.
