Selenskyj accuses Moscow of further deception of the West

Talking about peace, but at the same time waging war – the Ukrainian president accuses Moscow of conscious deception. He therefore calls for more international pressure on leadership in the Kremlin.

The Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj continues to accuse Russia of deception in the tug of war on the end of the war based on American mediation. “The Russians talk a lot about their alleged willingness to accept American suggestions, but so far there are no preparations for the Russian army for a real silence (weapons),” said Selenskyj in his evening video address. On the contrary, Russia has even resumed its attacks since Easter.

Selenskyj calls for more international pressure on Russia

“And every day of such struggles on the front line proves that Russia really tries to deceive the world, the USA and others go back, and further extend this war,” added the Ukrainian head of state. Since the first exploratory talks for a possible peace on March 11th in Dschidda, Russia has used almost 8,500 aircraft bombs, 200 rockets of all kinds and over 3,000 Kamikaze drones against Ukraine. “That has to stop, Russia has to hire these attacks – unconditionally.”

In this context, Selenskyj confirmed his demand to further put Russia under pressure. Only with international pressure could the Russians be caused to take all the necessary steps to end the war. The United States in particular is required here.

Ukraine is ready for unconditional ceasefire

On the sidelines of the funeral celebrations for Pope Francis in Rome, Selenskyj had come together with US President Donald Trump, the French President Emmanuel Macron, Italy’s head of government Georgia Meloni and EU Commission President Ursula from Leyen. He then emphasized that Ukraine was ready for an unconditional ceasefire. Now Russia is asked to agree. Moscow only said that Russia was ready for negotiations with Kiev without priority.
