Russia’s President Putin explains a ceasefire around the anniversary celebrations at the end of the World War II. The Ukrainian head of state Selenskyj calls the temporary fire break a bogus pack.

The Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj criticized the ceasefire announced by Kreml boss Vladimir Putin to the anniversary celebrations at the end of the World War I end as a pretense of willingness to dialogue and willingness to peace. The fire break is “another attempt at manipulation,” said Selenskyj in his evening video address. “For some reason, everyone should wait until May 8th and only then set the fire”, so that Putin has its peace during the parade. Kiev’s priority is the protection of people, not that of parades, said Selenskyj.

He pointed out that in contrast to Russia, Ukraine had already agreed to the proposal of US President Donald Trump to an unconditional 30-day ceasefire in early March. In this context, Selenskyj accused the Kremlin to “manipulate the world and try to cheat the United States.”

The Ukrainian head of state also discussed a Russian drone attack on the Tscherkassy region. According to him, the work to restore the gas supply of the population adopted.

Kiev and Moscow had agreed to set the attacks on energy systems for 30 days more than a month ago. The deadline has now expired. Both sides had accused each other several times the break in the agreement during the applicable moratorium.
