CSU and CDU have already said about the coalition agreement. Now only the SPD is missing. Their members have now made a decision.
The members of the SPD decided on the coalition agreement with the CDU and CSU. However, the result will not be announced until 10.30 a.m.). The 358,000 SPD members were able to vote for 15 days, the digital polling station closed at 11:59 p.m.
Coalition agreement is to be signed on Monday
If a majority have agreed, nothing stands in the way of the signing of the 144 -page coalition agreement planned for next Monday. A day later, the election of CDU boss Friedrich Merz as Chancellor is planned.
The CSU board and a small party congress of the CDU have already approved the coalition agreement entitled “Responsibility for Germany”. In addition to the majority of the votes, the SPD membership vote is necessary to participate 20 percent of the party members, which, according to the party, was already reached on Monday.
Juso leadership is against coalition agreement
With the minimum wage of 15 euros and tax reduction for low and medium -sized incomes, the SPD has anchored some of its campaign promises in the coalition agreement. However, the planned tightening of migration and social policy are controversial. The contract was therefore rejected the management of the Jusos and requested renegotiations.
Nevertheless, a majority approval of the contract is considered very likely. This is also due to the fact that the only alternatives to black and red would be a coalition between the Union and AfD, a minority government or new elections.
Only after approval to the coalition agreement does the SPD want to present its seven ministers for the new government next Monday. It is certain that Boris Pistorius remains Minister of Defense. It is also likely that party leader Lars Klingbeil becomes vice chancellor and finance minister.
2013 and 2018 clear majority
The SPD had the members vote with the Union in 2013 and 2018 via the coalition contracts. There was great approval both times. In 2018, 78.4 percent of the members took part and 66 percent voted yes. In 2013, approval was even 76 percent.
