After the terrorist attack in Kashmir, the conflict continues to come to a head: India initially closes airspace for Pakistani aircraft. The United States warns of prudence.
Against the background of increasing tensions with Pakistan, India closes its airspace for airlines in the neighboring country. All aircraft that would be registered in Pakistan and operated by Pakistani companies are included in military flights, reported the NDTV and other Indian media, citing the authorities. The ban on flying is therefore valid until May 23. The US government asked the two neighboring countries for de-escalation.
The recent announcement of Neu-Delhis was part of a series of measures with which India reacts to a terrorist attack in the part of the Kashmir unnecessary region. According to India’s first countermeasures, Pakistan had banned Indian aircraft, among other things, to fly over Pakistani territory.
On Tuesday last week, armed attackers killed 26 people on a mountain meadow in a holiday area in the Himalayan region-mostly Indian tourists. The government in Neu-Delhi accuses the neighboring state of participating, which is contested by Islamabad.
Since then, both nuclear powers have covered punitive measures, citizens of the other side have shown and reduced diplomatic relationships.
USA demands from Pakistan condemnation of the attack
In a conversation, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio asked Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to condemn the terrorist attack on April 22nd. He also asked the Pakistani authorities to support the elucidation of the brutal act, the ministry announced. Rubio asked Pakistan to de -escalate the recent tensions together with India, to resume direct communication with the neighboring country and to maintain peace in South Asia.
In a conversation with the Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Rubio also asked the government in Neu-Delhi to try to make a de-escalation together with the neighboring country.
Pakistan expects military attack
According to Information Minister Attafullah Tarar, Pakistan will soon expect an attack by the Indian military. Any aggression would be answered decisively, he warned on the X.
According to the armed forces, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi said “complete surgical freedom to decide on the way and the time” of a reaction to the latest attack.
