Chancellor Olaf Scholz is adopted from office with a large tap. Now it is clear what music the Bundeswehr’s staff music corps has to practice.
Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) selected two pop ever greens and a classic song on Monday evening, according to a report by the “Spiegel”. The Bundeswehr’s Music Corps will first play the song “In My Life” from the Beatles during the solemn appeal for Scholz, the “Spiegel” reported on Thursday. After that, Scholz wanted an excerpt from the “2nd Brandenburg concert” by Johann Sebastian Bach. The third song follows “Respect” by Aretha Franklin.
Imposant song: Merkel’s farewell in pictures
Before you start, the outgoing Chancellor gives a short speech. “The 16 years as Chancellor were eventful and often very challenging years. They asked me politically and humanly. And at the same time they always fulfilled me.” Briefly she grazes the big crises of her term- the financial and economic crisis in 2008, the 2015 refugee crisis. And she advertises for her credo: international cooperation with the huge challenges of time: climate change, flight, migration. She also thanked her employees and family for the support.

Olaf Scholz has three music requests
Three pieces of music traditionally wish for the large tap prank. The Bundeswehr’s music corps practices them and plays them at the big Zapfenstreich on the court of the Ministry of Defense in Berlin-Mitte. Scholz ‘predecessor Angela Merkel (CDU) had wished the GDR hit “You forgot the color film” by Nina Hagen, as well as the chanson “for me it should rain red roses” by Hildegard Knef and the hymn “Great God, we praise you”.
