The Republican from the US state of Florida initially worked under President George W. Bush as a consultant in the White House and in the Pentagon. He also worked as a commentator for the broadcaster Fox News. From 2018 he was sitting in the House of Representatives.

Waltz is considered a “falcon” in the ranks of the Republicans and as a Russia critic. Like Trump, however, he rejected other Ukraine aid.
