Since January 20, 2025, Donald Trump has been president in the Oval Office for the second time. Regular surveys show how much approval and rejection he experiences at home.
One or more surveys on the question appear almost every day whether Trump does a good job in the eyes of the Americans or not. Not so easy to keep an overview. For a better overview, this regularly determines an average value from the latest surveys:

In the overview: The latest surveys on Donald Trump
The individual surveys are collected by the newspaper and made available online in a data record. Certain survey institutions are classified as particularly reliable by the newspaper, among other things, with a view to their track record and methodology and are colored in the gold table below.

As already mentioned: new polls come out almost every day, some of the same opinion research institute. Sometimes there is a demand among all adults, sometimes only under registered voters (registered voters) or people who are classified as likely voters (Likely voters). The size of the samples also fluctuates, and there is always a statistical blurring. Some surveys are commissioned by media, some of the party -related organizations. The results of the individual surveys partly diverge with regard to the consent and rejection. The diagram below shows how big the scatter is in the survey results and how the trend was last:

The data show: In the weeks after the inauguration, the approval values for Donald Trump tends to decrease, but there were always quite close together when evaluating his work. The above all seems to be a question of political perspective. Republican opinion researcher Frank Luntz, for example, enters the falling approval values, but believes that the basic way that Trump takes is positively rated. The American political scientist Jack A. Goldstone assumes that many Americans are having Trump badly that he experiment with drastic tariffs instead of reducing consumer prices as promised.
Another question is whether the president himself attaches a special meaning to the surveys. On the one hand, the falling values have still been better in the past few weeks than during his entire first term. On the other hand, he does not have to be re -elected. According to the constitution, he should not strive for further term – even if he already flirted with it.
