Processes against numerous police officers run for right -wing extremism. This “has no place with us. If you don’t understand that, you fly out,” says North Rhine-Westphalia’s Minister of the Interior.
Disciplinary procedures or investigations are currently underway against at least 193 police officers of the federal states for suspicion of right -wing extremist attitudes and/or conspiracy ideology. This goes from a query of star and RTL from the interior ministries of all 16 federal states.
The actual number is likely to be significantly higher, since North Rhine-Westphalia, Berlin and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania could not deliver any clear current figures. For example, North Rhine-Westphalia and Berlin currently report around 80 disciplinary processes in each other, but according to your own statements, you cannot sometimes assign any political categories such as “right” or “links”.
According to the research, more than 571 disciplinary proceedings or investigations against police officers of the federal states have been running or running since 2020 – due to suspicion of right -wing extremist attitudes and/or conspiracy ideology. Here, too, the actual number is probably significantly higher, since even four federal states – at least partially – do not lead to any usable statistics. Namely: North Rhine-Westphalia, Berlin, Thuringia and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
Bavaria’s Interior Minister Herrmann positions himself against extremism
Bavaria’s Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann said star And RTL: “Every case is too much here. Civil servants have to confess and stand up for the free democratic order within the meaning of the Basic Law due to their entire behavior and non -duty activity.”
North Rhine-Westphalia’s Interior Minister Herbert Reul also commented on starAnd RTL: “I expect everyone to stand up for the rule of law and to maintain democracy. Extremist views have no place with us. Those who do not understand that flies out!” However, unlike last year, the country no longer assigns its own cases in a political direction. And Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania stated that current figures only report in the fourth quarter of this year.
