The Ukrainian President Selenskyj relies on a 30-day ceasefire. And makes Moscow serious allegations.
The Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj accuses Russia of not striving for ceasefire against his country in the war. “At the moment nobody sees such a willingness of Russia,” said Selenskyj in his evening video address. On the contrary, the country’s internal rhetoric is becoming increasingly active. “Without pressure on Moscow, Russia will continue to wage war,” emphasized Selenskyj. Therefore, global sanctions against Russian energy could certainly help Russian banks create peace.
Selenskyj emphasized that Ukraine was ready to move towards a ceasefire from now on when Russia was ready for consideration: a permanent ceasefire of at least 30 days. “This is an appropriate time frame to prepare the next steps. Russia has to end the war – its attacks and its fire.”
Selenskyj said the key question was whether the Ukraine partners could persuade Russia to agree to a complete ceasefire to end the Russian war of aggression that has been lasting for more than three years. It takes a “permanent silence that would enable us to find a way out of this war”.
Most recently, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin announced a three -day break from 8 to May 10 on the occasion of World War II. However, Ukraine considers this to be a deception. It insists on a comprehensive 30-day break. Russia rejects this.
