Long -time friend: Merz used to be much more arrogant

According to a long -time friend, the future Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) has become demonstrated. “He used to be much more arrogant,” said Ulrich Bettermann of the German Press Agency.
The entrepreneur also referred to the appearance of Merz, which is 1.98 meters tall. “If you look at people from top to bottom, you already have a disadvantage. You may have to compensate for it with a little more humility,” he advised the CDU politician.

Bettermann has been friends with Merz for almost 30 years. The two got to know each other via the Arnsberg-Menden airfield, who heard Bettermann’s company and on which the passionate pilot Merz has his two-engine plane.
It does not seem to be finally clarified whether he can continue to pursue his hobby as a chancellor. In the ARD show “Caren Miosga” he admitted in mid-April: “After that I didn’t ask anyone if I could.” At the moment he refuses to ask this question.
