US President Donald Trump has spoken out against the group of seven large Democratic industrial nations (G7) in the group of seven large democratic industrialized nations. “I think it’s not good timing now,” Trump said at an event in the White House. This time window was over, he added. In February, Trump had spoken out to the G7 round for Russia. The expulsion was a “mistake”, he said at the time.
Trump now claimed that if Russia had remained in the group of the seven leading economic nations, the Ukraine war might not have existed. The US President did not mention that Russia was excluded in 2014 because of the annexation of the Ukrainian Black Sea Peninsula Crimea.
The talks of the seven major industrialized nations have been in existence since 1975. Russia was admitted to the group in 2002 as a full member, which was then called G8 for twelve years. The group includes the United States, Great Britain, France, Germany, Japan, Italy and Canada.
