AfD is now also considered secure right -wing extremist in Brandenburg. But the Minister of the Interior Lange only learned about it weeks later. The head of the constitution therefore had to go.
The Brandenburg Constitutional Protection has classified the State AfD as secured right-wing extremist. State Minister of the Interior Katrin Lange (SPD) announced in Potsdam. It is the fourth state association, and the federal party was recently classified as secure right -wing extremist.
According to Lange, the classification of the state constitutional protection already comes from April 14. However, she only received the classification notice on May 5, she said. The assessment should have been made available to her immediately.
Lange had released the head of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Jörg Müller. The necessary trust is no longer available, said the minister in the interior committee of the state parliament in Potsdam. She and the public have not been taught about this significant process. “The classification remains,” said Lange. However, since May 5, she has not had the time to read the note and deal with it.

So far, the AfD state party in Brandenburg has been assessed as a suspected case. In Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia, the respective state constitutional protection already orders the party as secured right-wing extremist.
