Leo XIV. And one of the church superiors confirms that the American got more than 100 votes.
The new Pope Leo XIV has warned of the dangers of artificial intelligence (AI). At a meeting with cardinals in the Vatican, the first Pontifex from the United States described Ki as one of the greatest challenges in the next few years “for the defense of human dignity, justice and work”. Leo also advocated continuing the path of his late predecessor Francis.
The American – with a bourgeois name Robert Francis Prevost – was elected on Thursday to the 267th Pope of the Catholic Church. The 69-year-old prevailed in the complain in the Sistine chapel after four electoral groups. Before the beginning, the 133 cardinals, which were in the Sistine chapel, had to remove an oath, keep silent about the action inside.
Cardinal: Pope received more than 100 votes in the last ballot
One of the African cardinals, Désiré Tsarahazana from Madagascar, has now confirmed that Leo XIV received more than 100 votes in the last ballot, as the Italian news agency Ansa reported. The cardinal thus confirmed a report by the daily newspaper “La Repubblica”. A two -thirds majority was required – 89 votes.
This Sunday, the first Pope from the United States will be shown to the public in the history of the Catholic Church for the second time. Several ten thousand people are expected on St. Peter’s Square.
