Poland: Russia responsible for fire in shopping center
A year ago there was a devastating fire in a large shopping center in Warsaw. Now there are new findings on the case. The trail should lead to Russia.
A year after a major fire in a shopping center in Warsaw, the Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk was responsible for this. “We now know with certainty that the big fire in the Marywilska shopping center was caused by arson on behalf of the Russian secret services,” the politician wrote on the X.

In a joint statement by the Polish Interior and Justice Minister, it was said that comprehensive knowledge about the course of the arson was gained. The suspects had documented part of their actions.
At the major fire on May 12, 2024, around 1,400 shops and service facilities were destroyed in the Warsaw shop “Marywilska 44”. Nobody was injured. The investigation showed that the fire had broken out in several places. A large part of the dealers in the sales hall came from Vietnam.
