As US President, Joe Biden, especially towards the end of his term, afforded some dropouts. In a new book, insiders published previously unknown, precarious details – and writing of veiling.
Employees who think about putting him in a wheelchair reports that he no longer recognizes his long-time friend, Hollywood star George Clooney-a new book about ex-President Joe Biden draws the dark picture of an expiry in office. For the book about the end of the bidding presidency, the prestigious journalists Jake Tapper from CNN and Alex Thompson von Axios said they had interviews with more than 200 people from the Bidens area and the Democratic Party, most of the defeat. The 82-year-old bidden himself had recently denied reports on dismantling.
Employees wanted a wheelchair for bidges
After Biden had fallen in front of running cameras in 2023, and sometimes more and more uncertain, according to the newspaper “The Hill”, the President’s close employees discussed the excerpts of the book whether they should persuade biden into a wheelchair. However, they then decided that in the election campaign against Republican Donald Trump it would not have been politically. So they wanted to move it to the time after the election. Instead, they paid attention to short distances and constant accompaniment.
Environment tried to hide bidges
Until the last day of his presidency, Biden and his closest confidants would not have wanted to admit that his energy, his cognitive skills and its communication skills had significantly reduced, the authors of the book wrote in the magazine “The New Yorker”. “Worse, they tried to hide this by different means.”
Assistant has to come up with Clooney’s names
As an example of spiritual dropouts, the authors lead an encounter with Hollywood star Clooney, which the president has known personally for many years. In June 2024, when bidges returned from a G7 summit in Italy, he appeared to the information at a donation gala organized by Clooney. Biden apparently did not recognize the world -famous actor when he stood in front of him and only greeted him by default. “You know George,” an assistant from the President born him. “Yes, yes,” said the president about the star and host of the benefit event. “George Clooney”, the assistant repeated again.
Clooney was according to the information that bidges seemed so aged and did not recognize him. After Biden gave a disastrous picture in the debate against Trump at the debate against Trump, Clooney published a much -noticed article on July 10th in the “New York Times” entitled “I love Joe Biden. But we need a new candidate” in which he asked bidies to retreat. On July 21, Biden withdrew from the US presidential race and left his vice Kamala Harris the field.
Were “fooled” by biden
A former leading employee of the Harris campaign, David Plouffe, suffered sharp criticism of the late retreat in Bidens in the book. “As a party, we were fooled by bids,” the authors quote him. The over 100 days after the withdrawal until the election were far too short.
A spokesman Bidens who did not want to be named told Axios news portal: “Yes, there were physical changes when he got older, but signs of aging are no evidence of mental inability.” A few days earlier, Biden himself had rejected the allegation of a cognitive degradation during his time in the White House. Reports about an allegedly drastic deterioration in his condition in the last year of office are wrong and lacked any basis, he said.
The book entitled “Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, ITS Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again” (in German under the title ) appears in the coming week.
