Even before the end of the month, a private US foundation plans to supply the Gaza strip with relief goods. The Israeli blockade ensures humanitarian emergency stands.
A private US foundation specially founded for this purpose wants to start distributing relief goods in the Gaza Strip, which is suffering from an Israeli blockade at the end of May. The Gaza Humanitrian Foundation (GHF) will “start its work in the Gaza Strip before the end of the month,” said the foundation on Wednesday (local time). Israel has agreed to ensure distribution points in the north of the Palestinian area.
The GHF also asked Israel to find “solutions” for Palestinians who cannot achieve distribution points in the north of the Gaza Strip.
Last week, the US State Department announced the establishment of the private foundation, which in future should be involved in the distribution of relief goods in the Gaza Strip. The plan was criticized internationally, which seemed to avoid the UN and non -governmental organizations in the Gaza Strip.
Blockade of deliveries in the Gaza Stripes since the beginning of March
Since the beginning of March, Israel has been blocking humanitarian aid deliveries in the Gaza Strip. At the end of April, the world nutrition program declared that it had used up its food supplies in the Palestinian area. Aid organizations warn of a hunger.
UN organizations and other aid organizations also stated in the Gaza Strip that Israel wanted to abolish the previous distribution system for relief supplies. Accordingly, the goods will in future be supplied according to conditions defined by the Israeli army. Israel accuses the UN organization such as the Urwa Palestinian aid work of being infiltrated by Islamist Hamas.
