Foreign organizations that criticize Moscow in times of war are not desirable in the country. The factual ban now meets the human rights organization Amnesty International.
Russia has declared the human rights organization Amnesty International to be an undesirable organization and practically banned its work in the country. The Attorney General in Moscow said the organization that the organization was a “center to prepare global Russophobic projects, paid for by henchmen from the Kiev regime”. Amnesty, among other things, accuses the authority of tightening the military confrontation in the region since the beginning of the Ukraine War.
The classification as an unwanted organization is the same in Russia. Amnesty International is one of the most famous human rights organizations worldwide. She repeatedly charges Moscow war crimes in Ukraine and oppression of dissenters.
Russia has declared numerous institutions to undesirable organizations since the beginning of the war of aggression in Ukraine, including foundations and the internationally respected German Historical Institute and the German Society for Eastern Europe.
