A possible meeting of Kremlin chief Putin and US President Trump has long been speculated. Now the two politicians have also spoken about it on the phone.
According to Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US colleague Donald Trump also talked about a possible personal meeting on their two-hour phone call. “Both presidents are interested in such a meeting. But both presidents are also interested in the fact that this meeting is not empty, but a result -oriented manner,” said Putin’s foreign policy advisor Juri Uschakow, according to the Russian news agency Interfax in Sochi after the phone call.
Both sides “agree that such a meeting should be prepared well and comprehensively”. So far there has been no time or place for such a reunion.
Putin and Trump have spoken out for the further normalization of Russian-American relationships, said Uschakow. Nevertheless, Trump also reminded that Russia threatened new sanctions because of the war of aggression against Ukraine. Accordingly, Trump explained that he himself was not a fan of sanctions and prefers to want a deal. In the conversation, it was very depth for the Ukraine conflict, said Uschakow.
The tone was good, both of them spoke to first names that Putin congratulated Trump on the birth of his grandchild and wished the child and mother health. Both had agreed that they could use the listener at any time if there was something to discuss.
