According to Israel, 93 trucks have been driven in the Gaza Strip with flour, baby food and medication. But according to UN, no relief supplies have yet arrived.
On the second day after the end of the Israeli blockade of the auxiliary deliveries for the Gaza Strip, 93 trucks with goods were brought into the area. Humanitarian aid includes flour for bakeries, baby food, medical equipment and medication, the responsible authority Cogat said in the evening.
The spokesman for the United Nations, Stéphane Dujarric, said, however, that so far no auxiliary delivery has actually reached the needy people on site. The relief goods are still in an area controlled by the Israelis behind the border fence. On request, Cogat initially did not comment on Dujarric’s statement.
Israel’s army “all efforts to ensure that the relief supplies do not get into the hands of the terrorist organization Hamas,” said a statement by the authority.
Five instead of dozens of trucks in the Gaza Strip
A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had previously announced that Israel would enable dozens of auxiliary transporters in the Gaza Strip every day in the coming days. On Monday, humanitarian aid had come to the competitive area for the first time in almost three months – but according to Israeli information, only five trucks.

The fasting month is also celebrated in Gaza: in Rafah, people gather for traditional fasting on a long table in a completely destroyed street. During the war, hundreds of thousands fled from the north to this region

According to previous information from the United Nations, around 500 truck loads would be necessary to guarantee the supply of the approximately two million Palestinians in the sealed coastal area.
Conflict between Israel and UN
The UN and aid organizations warn of a famine in the coastal strip. Since the beginning of March, Israel had not allowed aid deliveries. The country accuses Hamas to resell the relief goods to finance their fighters and weapons.
