Due to empty ranks in the Bundestag, MPs are often suspected of laziness. However, the Vice President of Parliament expressly contradicts this.
Because a group of visitor in the Bundestag’s plenary hall only saw empty chairs, Vice President Bodo Ramelow prompted himself to explain it. “The election commission is responsible for this,” the left-wing politician explained to the address of the grandstand. “We all have to wait until the finished election results are available.”
The new military officer and the members of the judge election committee had previously been elected. The plenary session had been interrupted until the election results were given, whereupon most MPs left the room. Ramelow expressly contradicted the impression that the MPs had skipped the meeting: “There were really everyone,” he assured. “There is real life here.”
