Donald Trump has had enough of the war in Ukraine, there are dirty stories from New York and a lesson from Leipzig. What else is important today.
Love Readers,
Donald Trump’s patience is torn. The US President wants to, as announced weeks ago, withdraw from the Ukraine negotiations. There should be no sanctions against Russia. Congratulations to Vladimir Putin! While Wolodymyr Selenskyj had tried everything in the past week to preserve Trump’s benevolence and strive for peace negotiations with Russia, the ruler in the Kremlin simply lifted the efforts and bumped up the most powerful man in the world within a phone call. The conflict thus loses an important intermediary that partly his wire to Moscow.
Trump drops Ukraine
Not only the Ukraine is now bad, after all, they will probably no longer receive weapons from the USA from summer. The US withdrawal is also not good news for Europe. The EU had passed its 17th sanction package last week. This will hardly impress the Kremlin. What are the pressure from Europe to force Putin to peace and stuff the US gap?
Not many, military expert Carlo Massala told my colleague Jan Rosenkranz im star– “5-minute talk”. Europe cannot afford hard sanctions. It would be more effective to sanction all countries that are still importing oil and gas from Russia, and to provide the frozen Russian fortune in the EU of Ukraine. Why these measures have not been implemented so far and what else it has been. Listen here:
Diddy’s dirty past
The trial against US rapper Sean Combs, also known as “Puff Daddy” or “P. Diddy”, has been running in New York for over two weeks. The man who brought it to world fame from the New York ghettos are accused of human trafficking and sexual crimes. The public prosecutor wants to question 80 witnesses in the process (you can follow the most important statements in our live blog). Your statements make headlines almost every day.
There is talk of sex orgies, prostitution, drugs and violence. His ex-girlfriend and at the same time crowned Cassandra Ventura says that Combs blackmailed her with sex videos. Witnesses of his alleged outbreaks of violence to Ventura report death threats. Yesterday the court released photos that are supposed to take the rapper’s violent excesses.
Even if the verdict has not been spoken and Combs still gives innocent, you have to ask yourself how a person can be capable of such cruelty. My colleagues, who pursue the case on site in New York, have researched the reasons in the past of Sean Combs and summarized in a contribution worth reading:
Does Leipzig (K) have a sense of humor?
A man found that the city of Leipzig could tolerate a little more zest for life and applied for a “Humorbank” to the city district council. It was taken with the idea. But a city office had massive concerns: too complex, too expensive and in general, why does a bank need joking and joking? After all, it works just as well on any other seating. Negotiations were made for six months and now the “Humorbank” is a decided thing. Here you can find out why the story is a homage to German bureaucracy and when you can try out the bank in Leipzig:
