Donald Trump no longer wants international students at Harvard University. The elite university now defends itself legally against the US president-with success.
A federal judge has initially put a stop to the US government’s project to exclude foreign students from the Elite University Harvard. A preliminary injunction imposed by the judge prevents the government from banning the university of continuing to accept students from abroad through a special federal program.
The university had filed a lawsuit against the step of the US government in front of a federal court just a few hours before the judge’s decision. In it, she accused the government of US President Donald Trump to put pressure on the university with an illegal retaliation measure. The judge’s decision should only be the first step in a long legal dispute. It is not a final judgment.
Trump’s arrangement would mean “irreparable damage” for Harvard
Judge Allison D. Burroughs came to the conclusion that the elite university has demonstrated that the government’s order meant an “immediate and irreparable damage” for Harvard. This emerges from the disposal. Burroughs immediately arranged a hearing after submitting the lawsuit.
