It is not for the first time that the chairwoman of the Green Youth triggers a controversy. This time with an anti-pole police sweater. The matter has not yet been done for an important Green MP.
After a post with anti-Police sweater, Green Youth boss Jette Nietzard is also confronted with the demand for an apology from his own party. “All police officers and police officers are not a contribution to a critical and constructive debate, but damages our years of work as a green one in dialogue with the police,” said the first parliamentary managing director of the Green Group, Irene Mihalic, the “Spiegel”. You therefore expect “a sincere apology without wague and relativization”.
Nietzard had shown itself on her private Instagram channel with a sweater on which the abbreviation “ACAB” could be read. It stands for “all cops are bastards”. She also wore a cap with the capitalism -critical inscription “Eat the Rich”.
Greens boss: “unacceptable”
Mihalic, who herself is a policewoman herself, said she personally met the performance. She said to her party friend: “I do not know if she has made it aware that people are behind the street every day to ensure security, to fight crime, to ward off dangers, keep traffic running and much more.”
Greens boss Felix Banaszak called Nietzard’s assessment of the police “unacceptable”. This has to decide on Nietzard’s whereabouts at the head of the youth organization. The Greens President of the Minister of Baden-Württemberg, Cem Özdemir, criticized that the Greens were wrong who is not able to defend the police that the police also defend green values, as he wrote on the platform X.
Bavaria’s Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann said: “I expect an apology to insult our police officers with” ACAB “. Clearly, by stupid polemics, neither questions of social compensation nor internal security are brought forward even one step,” said the CSU politician of the German Press Agency in Munich. Nietzard’s contribution was spiritual and tasteless.
Nietzard rowed back – a bit
Nietzard meanwhile distanced itself somewhat in a “Stern” podcast from her sweater campaign-she “does not believe that this was the right way to draw attention to the problems,” she explains in a “star” podcast. She has the sweater “as a private individual”. Nietzard has been co-spokeswoman for the green youth since October 2024.
Nietzard contributions had already been noticed earlier. According to users, she had posted on New Year’s Eve: “Men who lose their hand while firing can at least no more women beat.” The contribution was deleted after criticism.
