In concrete terms, according to the information, the use concerns the question of support from the so -called “People’s Republics” Donetsk and Luhansk, which classifies the federal prosecutor as terrorist associations.

According to the federal prosecutor, there was also a search on Tuesday in Berlin, but it was not directly related to the measure in Brandenburg. But here, too, it is about suspicion of collecting funds for one of the popular republics.

Attorney General: People’s Republics as a terrorist association

In spring 2014, forces controlled by Moscow took power in the eastern Ukrainian cities of Donetsk and Luhansk and operated by Kiev. The Ukrainian army tried to fend off the hidden Russian attack unsuccessfully militarily. Internally, the so -called People’s Republics Donetsk and Luhansk were brutally against all opponents.

In September 2022, Russia annexed the areas. From espionage procedures from 2024 it is known that the federal prosecutor classifies the popular republics as foreign terrorist associations.

Investigators of the BKA during use

Initially, the “BZ” had reported a police operation in Königs Wusterhausen in the Brandenburg district of Dahme-Spreewald. A resident described the German press agency in the King Wusterhausen district of Zernsdorf that he had seen investigators from the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) and other police officers in the early morning. Königs Wusterhausen is located not far from Berlin southeast of the capital.
