The trip was actually planned for the beginning of May – but it failed. Now Greta Thunberg sets out to criticize the “genocide” in the Gaza Strip.
According to a French-Palestinian EU MP, Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg will be part of a shipping protest against the Israeli procedure in the Gaza Strip. Thunberg, together with other activists on Sunday, will open on a sailing ship of the so-called “Freedom Flotilla” towards Gaza Strip, said EU MP Rima Hassan, who claims to take part in the protest.
The aim of the protest is to criticize the Israeli blockade for aid deliveries and the ongoing “genocide” in the Gaza Strip, Hassan continued. The MP of the French left-wing party LFI is controversial in France because of their statements about the war in the Palestinian area. In February, she was denied entry to Israel as part of an EU parliamentary trip.
Greta Thunberg has been waiting for the trip since May
Thunberg wanted to travel to the Gaza strips with a ship of the “Freedom Flotilla” at the beginning of May. However, the ship had been damaged on the way. Activists suspected that Israel had attacked the ship with a drone. Thunberg had previously participated in pro-Palestinian protests.
The Gaza War had been triggered by the major attack by Hamas and with it allied fighter on October 7, 2023, in which, according to Israeli information, around 1210 people were killed. 251 people were delayed as hostages in the Gaza strips.
