Israel does not let Arab Foreign Minister travel to the West Bank

Israel blocks Arab Foreign Minister in the West Bank

According to information from Israel, several Foreign Minister of Arab countries want to meet in the West Bank. However, there are reservations in Tel Aviv for two reasons.

Israel does not want to allow a planned visit to foreign ministers in the Israeli -occupied West Bank. The Palestinian Authority intends to organize a “provocative meeting of the Foreign Minister of Arab countries in Ramallah to discuss the construction of the establishment of a Palestinian state,” said an Israeli official late Friday evening.

Israel is “not cooperating” with such steps that aim to harm the country and its security, the official announced.

Israel not only controls the most everyday concerns of the residents of the West Bank, but also the borders and the airspace of the occupied Palestinian area. Foreign diplomats are therefore only allowed to enter with Israeli approval.

Previously, circles of the Palestinian Embassy in Riyadh became that – for the first time since the West Bank was occupied by Israel – with the Saudi Arabian Minister Faisal Bin Farhan on Sunday, a high -ranking representative from the Golf state of Ramallah wanted to visit. According to the US broadcaster CNN, ministers from the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar and Turkey also want to attend a visit to Ramallah.

Israel plans new settlements in the occupied West Bank

The announcement of Saudi Arabia on the visit to the Minister in Ramallah followed a statement by the Israeli Minister of Defense Israel Katz that Israel would “build a Jewish-Israeli state” in the West Bank.
