As soon as Hamas, the USA rejects the USA for ceasefire, the Islamists report a new fatal attack by Israel. Meanwhile, Washington makes Iran a suggestion in the nuclear dispute.
Hopes for a ceasefire in the Gaza War between Israel and Islamist Hamas have broken up for the time being. In its response to a proposal by the US mediator Steve Witkoff, the terrorist organization agreed to leave some hostages for a fire break, but provided other conditions. The US and Israel promptly rejected Hamas’ answer: it was “completely unacceptable”, Witkoff wrote to X. Just a few hours later, Hamas reported a new attack in Israel, in which at least 22 Palestinians were killed in the early morning.
The media office of the terrorist organization said The information could not be checked independently. On the part of the Israeli army, there was initially no message to an attack.
Hamas calls for the end of the war
Hamas has to accept the current proposal for a ceasefire initially limited to 60 days, then further talks are possible next week to a permanent end of the war in Gaza, Witkoff wrote to X. However, there is no guarantee for the final cessation of the fighting acts in the plan – however, this was a central demand for Hamas. Apparently the Islamists stick to it. “Guarantees against the resumption of aggression” were sent as part of the answer to Witkoff, the dpa news agency learned from Hamas circles.
Hamas provides further conditions
The US proposal provides for an release of 10 hostages from the Gaza Strip and the handover of the remains of 18 other kidnapped. In return, Palestinian prisoners are said to be released from Israeli prisons. Hamas wants to agree to this core of the proposal. At the same time, however, the terrorist organization has other conditions.
The Islamists demand a longer -stretched timing of the hostage clearance when it is intended in Witkoff’s plan, as the dpa learned from circles of the terrorist organization. This change should prevent Israel’s head of government Benjamin Netanyahu from breaking off the talks about permanent ceasefire after a release of the first ten hostages, as he did during the previous ceasefire in January, the “Times of Israel” reported on a source involved in the talks.
Islamists want guarantee for the end of the war
Hamas also wants Israel’s military to withdraw from the sealed-out Gaza Strip after the ceasefire came into force, as the dpa learned from Hamas circles. The Islamists would also have wanted to state that if there is no agreement on a permanent ceasefire within 60 days, the temporary fire break is automatically extended for an indefinite period, the US news page “Axios” quoted an informed source. Hamas had called for a ceasefire that lasted up to seven years, said an Israeli official of the “Times of Israel”.
However, the main quotation is the Islamists ‘demand for the United States’ guarantees for the end of the war, “Axios” reported. However, the Israeli government of Prime Minister Netanyahu strictly rejects a ceasefire in which the war comes to an end. Critics accuse her of wanting to continue the war in the Gaza Strip for domestic reasons.
In a statement that Witkoff’s proposal had not been rejected in a statement. Rather, Israel’s reaction to the US proposal was not with the compatible with the compatible with the Hamas. Witkoff’s attitude towards the Palestinian organization is unfair and shows a “complete bias” towards Israel.
Israel: Hamas responsible for continuation of the war
Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Saar wrote on X that Hamas started the war with the massacre of October 7, 2023 and was responsible for continuing because she refused to released the hostages and put down her weapons. Israel assumes that there are still 20 to 23 living hostages and at least 35 corpses of abductible in the Gaza Strip.
Reports: USA makes Iran proposal for nuclear deal
There has been speculation for some time, Israel may also be preparing for an attack on the nuclear facilities in Iran. In Israel it is feared that Tehran will seek the construction of an atomic bomb that is at risk of existence for the Jewish state. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) found that the produced amount of almost consolidated uranium in Iran had increased by almost 50 percent within a short time. Netanyahu calls on the international community according to the report on rapid action.
The U.S. Sonderstanded Witkoff has now presented the leadership in Tehran “a detailed and acceptable proposal”, quoted the US news page “Axios” and other media, spokeswoman for US President Donald Trump, Karoline Leavitt. It is in Iran’s best interest to accept the US proposal. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghtschi announced that his counterpart had presented him “elements of a US deal” in Tehran. It will be “appropriate” and reacted according to the “national interests” of Iran, wrote Araghtschi on the platform X.
IAEA: Uranium -compatible uranium in Iran rose sharply
Among other things, the United States had proposed a regional consortium that enriched uranium for civilian purposes under the supervision of the IAEA and the USA, reported “Axios”. Another idea is that the United States recognizes the rights of the Islamic Republic to enrich uranium, while Tehran fully exposes its uranium enrichment, it said.
According to the IAEA report, Iran now has almost 409 kilograms of uranium with a purity degree of 60 percent. Around 42 kilograms would be sufficient for a nuclear weapon if this uranium was only enriched a little higher to 90 percent, according to diplomatic circles. Iran rejected the report as politically motivated. According to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, the Foreign Ministry of Israel accuses the basis of the report that IAEA has sent IAEA fake documents.
