Heavy fights for new Ukraine peace talks

Degotiators Kiev and Moscow will meet new peace talks on Monday. The day before, however, the weapons speak on all fronts, even fought behind the fronts.

Immediately before new negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, the military and secret services of both warring parties have started spectacular attacks. While the diplomats were still preparing documents and files, the military use combat drones and bombs.

Kiev approved a Russian proposal for another direct discussion on the end of the Ukraine War. “On Monday, our delegation is headed by (Defense Minister) Rustem Umjerow,” wrote Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj on the platform X. The first round should take place two weeks ago in Istanbul in Turkish.

Selenskyj wrote the Ukrainian position for the meeting in Istanbul: a complete and unconditional weapon calls, the release of prisoners and the return of kidnapped children. In addition, a meeting should be prepared at the highest level to create a reliable and permanent peace and ensure security.

Ukraine attacks Russian airfields and train lines

After months of preparation, the Ukrainian intelligence service has led a comprehensive blow against Russian military airfields, from which fighter planes regularly started attacks against Ukraine. In total, over 40 machines were destroyed in the attacks against four airports, including one at Irkutsk in Siberia, the Ukrainian secret service SBU said.

According to Ukrainian information, the Tupolew TU-95 and TU-22 TU-22 type and special early warning aircraft Berijew A-50 were met at the “Aktion Spinnsnetz”. The Russian military confirmed the “terrorist attacks”, spoke of “some” damaged aircraft at Murmansk and Irkutsk.

According to officially unconfirmed reports, the Ukrainian secret service started fight drones that were launched by hiding places in wooden houses that were loaded on truck. “At the right time, the roofs were opened remotely and the drones flew to attack Russian bombers,” it said. Independent confirmation was not possible.

Previously, according to the Kiev military secret service, a freight train had already been blown up in a part of the Saporischschja area controlled by Russian troops. The military train with fuel tanks and freight wagons was derailed on the track bed due to an explosion, the statement said.

The announcement was made after there were two incidents in Russia on Sunday night. In the areas bordering on the Ukraine, Kursk and Brjansk dashed two trains to bridges. While the governor of the Kursk region, Alexander Chinschtejn, wrote from an injured person, the episodes in Brjansk were significantly more difficult. According to governor Alexander Bogomas, 7 people died there and about 70 were injured, including three children. He confirmed reports on an explosion of the bridge. The Russian investigation committee classified the bridge collapse as a terrorist act.

In the afternoon, according to Russian representation, several marching aircraft occurred in the village of Krasnodon in the Luhansk region of Luhansk, which was occupied by Russia. Rakets from the British-French type Storm Shadow met an industrial zone, as the governor Leonid Passechuk used by Moscow reported according to the state agency TASS. In the attack, an unspecified number of people had been injured.

Kiev’s military reports dead and injured after Russian attack

According to Ukrainian information, at least twelve soldiers were killed after a Russian rocket attack on a training unit of the army. In addition, more than 60 people were injured, the ground troops said. During the air alarm, there was no appeal or a mass assembly, according to the military.

The commander of the Ukrainian army, General Mychajlo Drapatij, took responsibility for the incident and announced his immediate resignation. “As a commander, I failed to fully ensure the execution of my commands,” he wrote on Facebook. “I have not exerted any pressure, did not convince and did not change the attitude to the men in the ranks. I am responsible for that.”

Different positions in negotiations

Overall, Moscow and Kyiv differ in their approach to the negotiations. Ukraine first wants to negotiate a ceasefire, in the course of which the further path to the final peace can be discussed.

In March, Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin rejected a unconditional 30-day ceasefire proposed by US President Donald Trump on the grounds that Ukraine could rebuild itself in time and to sort them up again. He wants to continue fighting until Ukraine agrees to the conditions for a final peace.

In the UN Security Council, however, Russia signaled willingness to a possible ceasefire – under conditions. “For the duration of the ceasefire, it is at least necessary that the western countries stop the arms deliveries to the Kiev regime and the Ukraine ends their mobilization,” said Russia’s UN ambassador Wassili. His country was ready to talk about the conditions for peace during the negotiations on Monday in Istanbul.

The Russian peace conditions are strongly reminiscent of a surrender of Ukraine. Moscow raises demands on large parts of Ukraine – including areas, which it has not yet been able to conquer it. In addition, the Kremlin wants to secure the Russian -speaking minority in the neighboring country in Kiev, which is therefore not allowed to join NATO or keep a powerful army.

Ukraine wanted Russian memorandum in advance

The Ukrainian Defense Minister Umjerow announced that he had already sent the Russian chief negotiator a document with the Ukrainian position. “We are not against further meetings with the Russians and are waiting for their” memorandum “so that the meeting does not run into nothing and really brings us closer to the termination of the war,” he wrote down at X. Moscow accelerated further delays and repeated the Ukrainian willingness to complete and unconditional weapon rest.
