Great Britain puts its defense to the test. It is already clear: the government would like to have a dozen attacks of attacks of the next generation built.
Great Britain wants to upgrade its nuclear-powered submarine attack fleet, as the government announced in the run-up to a review of the defense sector. “With new state-of-the-art submodern submarines that patrol in international waters, and our own nuclear warhead program on the British coast we make Britain safe and abroad,” wrote Defense Minister John Healey in a statement.
“We know that the threats increase and that we have to act decisively to ward off Russian aggression.” Great Britain will build up to 12 next generation attacks of attacks that are driven by nuclear and can wear conventional, non-nuclear weapons.
Great Britain is expanding fleet from seven to twelve submarines
According to the Ministry of Defense, they should replace the current fleet of seven submarines at the end of 2030. The new submarines are a model that was developed by Great Britain, the USA and Australia as part of the security partnership known as Aukus.
Like other European heads of government, Prime Minister Keir Strander is trying to strengthen his country’s defense capacities after US President Donald Trump had asked Europe and other countries to assume more responsibility for their own security.
