In view of the growing threats, the British government also wants to make its country warlike. For this, Prime Minister Strauber Karrmer announces massive investments in defense.
On the way to the “willingness to war”, Great Britain has announced billion -dollar investments in the military and defense. The central task is to make the armed forces ready for the war, said Prime Minister Keir Strandmer. Everything is also done to contribute to the strength of the western military alliance with a “NATO-FIRST” posture.
Against the background of the Russian attack war on Ukraine, the Prime Minister said that everyone had to recognize that “things had changed”. The front line, if you want, said, “is here”.
The measures include building up to twelve new submarines. The government also plans to spend £ 15 billion (around 18 billion euros) for British programs for the production of nuclear warheads. Investments in the nuclear area are intended to create tens of thousands of jobs across the country.
The British armed forces are said to be ten times more powerful by 2035, said Starmer. To be ready to secure the “peace through strength” is the most effective way to deter states, threaten the Britain directly.
More weapons with a greater range
The Ministry of Defense had already announced on Sunday to boost ammunition production with a billion dollar investment. The government wants to invest £ 1.5 billion (around 1.8 billion euros) in the construction of at least six new factories. The armed forces should also get more weapons with a larger range.
Russia’s violation of international law in Ukraine had shown in a tough way that a military was only as strong as the industry behind it, Defense Minister John Healey said. With their strengthening, opponents should be deterred and the country should be made safer and stronger.
